Ancient Italian doors with decorative locks in blue. On a recent trip to Northern Italy with friends, we stayed for a few days in the town of Modena. In addition to visiting the places where Parmesan Reggiano, balsamic vinegar and Ferraris are made, we also spent time walking the beautiful town. It was here that I came upon these beautiful old wooden doors with decorative locks. The faces carved into the locks are both forbidding and welcoming. Photo taken by Deborah League in Modena, Italy.
