Description
Up-close square photographic art print of a fragile yellow nasturtium bloom damp with dew, against a black background. Perfect as a single piece of art and even better when displayed in a series of three. Consider either the same piece framed and hung three across on your wall or mix and match it with other similar images in my gallery for real drama.
Nasturtium is an easy-to-grow annual whose leaves and flowers are edible. The bright green leaves and vibrant flowers are good for containers or as ground cover. Both the leaves and petals of the nasturtium are high in vitamin C.
The plant was named by Swedish botanist Linnaeus because it reminded him of an ancient Roman custom, whereby the armor and weapons of defeated armies were hung on trophy poles. To Linnaeus, the leaves looked like shields, and the red flowers looked like blood-stained helmets.
Yellow flowers burst with happiness and symbolize the bonds of friendship, the taste of success joy and pride.
