Description
Thunderhead Above pencil drawing. I love thunder storms and the clouds that accompany them. Most often the storms include large cumulus clouds which are created when air warmed by the earth's surface rises and its temperature begins to cool. Cooling air in the atmosphere causes a rise in relative humidity. Once relative humidity exceeds 100%, the water condenses, releasing its stored heat into the surrounding air in the form of water vapor. At this point, the water vapor condenses, forming the cumulus cloud. All very interesting, and no matter the method of their formation, cumulus clouds are always beautiful and dramatic.
