Description
Two colorfully striped zebras stand nose to nose in this abstract watercolor painting on white.
Zebras are a species of wild horses living originating in Africa. The animals live in a haram, called a dazzle, and travel in large herds across south and east Africa. The term dazzle refers to a unique phenomenon called “motion dazzle”, an optical illusion that occurs when groups of zebra move quickly together. Their pack behavior has developed as a way to protect members from the many predators they face in day to day life. Despite heroic efforts, the animal has not been successfully domesticated.
