Description
Amanita Cesarea (Amanita jacksonii) mushrooms growing wild on the Winterthur Museum grounds. Pictured are two mushrooms growing close together. This fungi can be found in woodlands from eastern Canada through the United States and into Mexico.
If properly identified, this mushroom is edible; however, caution should be used because it is similar in appearance to other, poisonous, mushrooms. No assurances are made that the mushrooms in this image are edible.
