Description
Decorated for Christmas 2020, the music room in the conservatory at Longwood Gardens hosts beautifully decorated trees and other holiday finery. In this image, a book case serves as backdrop for the traditionally festooned tree.
The Music Room originally housed the first organ console and one of Pierre S. du Pont's two Steinway concert grand pianos. Today, the room; with its walnut and silk paneled walls, teak floor, grand fireplace, and elaborately molded and painted plaster ceiling, is used for art exhibits, small lectures, and receptions.
