Description
Navigili District, Milan Italy.
Navigli is home to the last of Milan's arterial waterways designed by Leonardo DaVinci for transporting goods in and out of Milan. Located in the Italian region of Lombardy, canals date back as far as the Middle Ages. The system consists of five canals: Naviglio Grande, Naviglio Pavese, Naviglio Martesana, Naviglio di Paderno, Naviglio di Bereguardo.
Specifically, Navigli is the name of the triangle bounded by Milan Naviglio Grande and the Naviglio Pavese which is headed by the Porta Ticinese dock and covering a large part of the southwestern quadrant of the city. It is a charming bohemian suburb, where you can sightsee, shop and dine.
Featured in this image are the two canals called Naviglio Grande and the Naviglio Pavese.
